her Story

Zaynab Wilson, a Montréal-born multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter with the spirit stories of a traveller, anchors to the rhythm, melody, and matters of the psyche while exploring the depths of her story. She sculpts a soundscape that binds the intrinsic Afro-Caribbean rhythms developed in her childhood performance years and the heart-driven, improvisational song styles of Jazz and Soul music.

With over two decades of performing as a session and support musician for several artists, Zaynab began performing her original material in 2018 across Canada, the US, and Australia. She released her first single, “Golden”, in 2020. This year she is following up with music releases from her forthcoming EP, Dwij: a concept album exploring the odyssey of rebirth, recalibrating, and reimagining her artistic definition. This body of work is a dedication to the kindred ears and hearts of the world – may the music speak to the heart in mind.
